The GISM Annual Meeting 2027 will take place in Parma on 20–21 May 2027, in the prestigious central venue of the University of Parma.
Two days will focus on mesenchymal stromal cells, their new biological and therapeutic perspectives, and innovative approaches based on secretome, extracellular vesicles, and advanced cell therapies. The meeting will bring together researchers, clinicians, young investigators, and national and international experts, offering a dynamic forum for discussion across basic research, translational medicine, manufacturing, regulation, and clinical applications.
The scientific programme will address topical issues, from biomedical communication in the age of artificial intelligence to new frontiers of MSC research and the challenges of translating innovation from laboratory to therapy. Special attention will be given to young researchers through the Next Generation Session and selected communications.
On 20 May, the meeting will also host a joint session with ISO, the Italian Society of Osteoncology. This shared initiative aims to highlight the scientific and clinical intersections between the two societies, spanning basic research, translational perspectives, and clinical applications, fostering dialogue between complementary fields and encouraging new opportunities for collaboration.
Participants will be welcomed to Parma, a university city and European Youth Capital 2027, where scientific tradition, culture, and innovation meet in a history-rich urban setting. Located in the heart of the Food Valley and recognised as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, Parma will offer a congress experience combining scientific exchange, dialogue between generations, and the discovery of a city renowned for its art, music, quality of life, and hospitality.
